Trash Bucket in the Garden

I have a trash basket in every room in my house, and a 5-gallon “trash” bucket in every garden room of my garden.  I like decorative buckets–green ones or beige ones that blend into the landscape, sort of.

One bucket in the white garden; one bucket in the vegetable garden; one bucket in the backdoor garden; one bucket in the patio garden. You get the idea.

The trash bucket for deadheads, certain weeds, and dead plants is a reminder of impermanence. Even in May, a burgeoning month of blooms and plants, many flowers are passing out of existence. Daffodils are gone. Money plant is going.

We too will be “gone” one of these days. But till then, let’s cavort in the joy of our gardens.
