Half Moon

This early morning, the waning half moon was reflected in my little fish pond. Poets, especially Zen poets, and philosophers, such as Plato, use the image of the moon’s reflection in water to try to tell us about Awareness. Once we see/feel Awareness, we understand at a deep level that life is a dream. Life is a reflection of the moon on the water. There and not there. Both.

The moon floats alone in the early morning sky, surrounded by vastness. We too float alone through our lives. Even though we surround ourselves with people, we are surrounded by vastness. Some call it emptiness. An alive emptiness.

The beautiful moon.
