Flower CSA

I’ve never signed up for a share of a CSA (Community Supported Agriculture) because my vegetable garden produces more than enough to fill my small chest freezer. I haven’t signed up for a meat CSA either, because i’m not a big meat eater and because the very small local farmers market supplies all my needs–chicken one week, sausage or pork butt another week.

But when i received a notice about a Flower CSA, well, of course, i signed up immediately. Bouquet pick-up is Sunday from 4-8, two miles from home. Con-ven-ient!

I picked up my first bouquet Sunday night at 8:15 p.m. in the pouring rain in the dark. Each bouquet is different, so, just like a regular CSA, you never know what you’re going to receive. This is an adventure in trusting the Universe. Or, i would say, trusting Life to give you what you need (but maybe not what you want).

My first bouquet was 2-in-1: a short bouquet of hyacinths and a taller bouquet of purple tulips and my very favorite oh-so-sweet-smelling tazetta narcissus. Thank you Universe! Thank you Life!

Practicing gratitude for the gifts of Life.
